'Why are you so fearful?' MARK 4:40

Have you ever been on a plane when the weather outside is really bad?

There's a nervous atmosphere amongst the passengers.
Everything starts to shake and rattle.
The captain's voice crackles through the intercom saying it's all normal. You're not convinced!

Well that's probably the closest you'll get to how Jesus' disciples felt when they got stuck in a storm out at sea.
But check this out: Jesus '...was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace, be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"' (Mark 4:36-40 NKJV).

Here are two lessons you only learn in life's storms:
1) Jesus never, ever gets rattled. He is the original 'shaken not stirred'. Once you've invited him to be your permanent travelling companion he'll never walk out on you.
2) Jesus never started a journey He couldn't finish. So when He permits you to go through storms stop asking him to get you out and start asking him to lead you through. Storms can be pretty intense experiences, but with Jesus you'll come out stronger and wiser on the other side.

Amen
